You are warmly invited to join us for the celebration of Magha Puja Day at Wat Phra Srisanphet on Sunday, 16th February 2025, from 10:00 AM onwards. This sacred day marks a significant moment in Buddhist history, honouring the Buddha’s teachings on three major principles: not to do all evils, to cultivate goodness, and to purify one's mind. The event will include almsgiving, meditation, dhamma talks, and a candlelight procession (wien thien). Let us come together to reflect, make merit, and embrace the spirit of harmony and wisdom on this auspicious occasion. We look forward to welcoming you.

Dear supporters,

We are delighted to invite you to a special sermon on the Vessantara Jataka, a profound tale of boundless generosity and selflessness. This cherished Buddhist narrative offers timeless lessons on compassion and the spirit of giving, making it a perfect inspiration for our shared purpose.

This event is dedicated to raising funds to help repay the remaining loan of £275,000, which was undertaken to support the property purchase.

The Vessantara Jataka is a powerful reminder of the virtues of dana (generosity), and we hope it will inspire all of us to come together in support of this important cause. Your presence and contributions, whether through donations or by spreading the word, will help ensure that Wat Phra Srisanphet UK continues to flourish as a place of learning, mindfulness, and community.

How You Can Contribute:

We sincerely hope you will join us for this meaningful occasion as we draw inspiration from the story of the Buddha's past lives and work together toward a shared goal.

With Metta (loving-kindness),
Ven. Phramaha Bhatsakorn Piyobhaso

Sunday 12th October 2025: Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony

Dear supporters,

It is with great joy and reverence that we invite you to join us for the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony, a cherished tradition that marks the conclusion of the Buddhist Vassa (Rain Retreat). This auspicious event will take place:

Date: Sunday, 12th October 2025
Time: 10:00-17:00 hours
Venue: Long Ashton Community Centre, 5 Keedwell Hill, Long Ashton, Bristol BS41 9DP

The Kathina Ceremony is a time for the community to come together in generosity and gratitude, supporting the monastic Sangha and deepening our collective spiritual practice. This year, the ceremony also serves a special purpose: raising funds to repay the remaining loan of £275,000, which was taken to support the property purchase.

Your participation and support are vital to this cause, whether through donations, contributions of goods, or simply joining us on this day of merit. Together, we can ensure that this debt is repaid and that Wat Phra Srisanphet continues to serve as a sanctuary for spiritual growth, learning, and compassion.

If you are unable to attend but wish to contribute, please feel free to donate via BACS, PayPal, or online donation.

We look forward to sharing this meaningful day with you and hope you will help us spread the word by inviting friends and family to join.

With Metta (loving-kindness),
Ven. Phramaha Bhatsakorn Piyobhaso
Founding Chair of Wat Phra Srisanphet UK
